Intro To Moving Water Course (tandem)- May 26th-27th: This is a great course for canoe trippers who wish to develop their river-tripping skills. This course will be held at the Elora Gorge Conservation area and will be a co-ed event. We will spend two full days on the river learning to read and maneuver in Class 1-2 whitewater. This is a Paddle Canada certification and successful candidates will need to perform maneuvers in both the bow and stern of the boat. If you just want to come out and learn more about paddling whitewater, but do not want the certification, you are also welcome to join us. Those wishing to camp with us/ eat with us will just split those costs accordingly. Price $80 (Course only. Camping, equipment and food not included)
Intermediate Moving Water Course (tandem and solo)- June 22nd-24th: This course is for paddlers who have achieved their Intro to MW course or for those with equivalent experience. We will meet on the Thursday night or Friday morning in Quadville and paddle the Lower Madawaska river, learning and camping as we go. Successful candidates will need to perform maneuvers in bow and stern in class 2 water. Properly outfitted boats are a must. This is also a Co-ed course where we can share meals if participants wish. Price $120 (Course only. Camping, equipment and food not included)
Temagami 7 Day Maple Mountain Trip- Aug. 11th-18th: Temagami is a great area to trip where you can still find true wilderness.This trip is for female paddlers who have tripped with us before or for those with moderate experience canoe tripping. It will include a rest day where we will climb Maple Mountain for the incredible view and we will paddle through an incredible variety of landscapes including creeks, valleys, big and small lakes. If you are unsure if this trip is right for you, please contact us. Price $350.
Killarney Provincial Park, Family Trip -Aug 25th - 30th: On this trip we invite families of all compositions (and friends too ) to join us on this kid friendly canoe trip. You may come self contained or we can provide food and equipment if you need it. This is a great trip for those who have always wanted their children to experience the wilderness but are a bit intimidated to do it on their own. Cost for this trip will include park fees and then very depending on the level of outfitting support you need. The trip will be slow paced with at least one rest day and lots of time for swimming and hanging out in camp. Price TBD
Haliburton Highlands Fall Colours Trip - Sept. 21st- 24th: Experience this newly managed watershed in all it's fall glory. This is a great time of year to trip with warm days, cool nights, and no bugs. This trip is for women of all skill levels who would like to spend time in the wilderness at this beautiful time of year. Portages will never seem so lovely with their canopies of colour. Price $250
* Private ORCKA and Paddle Canada whitewater training and certifications can be arranged for parties of 4-8 people. Please inquire as to availability.
*All of our trip dates can be adjusted by a few days if everyone on the trip agrees. Trip prices include park fees, rentals and food. Transportation costs are split between the participants at the time of the trip. Trip prices may change based on changes agreed to by the participants.
